Dr. David Anderson
Casey's Weight Loss Success
BP well controlled, knee pain and back pain resolved. Sleep apnea almost resolved. Cholesterol lowered, clothes loose, energy increased and hopeful!!
In 2007 after 22 years of daily running and working on steel decks in the Navy led me to several knee arthroscopies with eventual orders from the doctors for no more running since I was likely facing knee replacement surgery…......
Over the following 5-years I added on the pounds until I reached a high of 287 last year. I was short of breath, suffered from obstructive sleep apnea, had unrelenting knee pain, and was unable to walk across the parking lot. Last year I even suffered a herniated disk and had severe pain and weakness down my leg. I also had high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and was on the verge of Type II diabetes. Physically I was a mess. My clothes didn’t fit, I had difficulty getting in and out of the car and I even reached a point where my passion for sailing was seriously impacted by my overall physical condition. I realized that very gradually I had gotten myself into a real mess and now I was facing some real problems. My internist kept telling me to lose weight and recommended I consider medically supervised weight loss. My weight was literally impacting everything I did both at work and at home. More importantly things were getting worse and I was giving up. What really bothered me was when I learned my wife was so deeply concerned about my health that she thought she was going to lose me to a heart attack or stroke. Skepticism and pride were my other problems preventing me from taking the necessary steps to get help. After all ‘some guy’s testimonial on a web-site certainly didn’t apply to me!’
In January of this year Renee and I decided that we (read “I”) needed to get some professional help and whatever that was, we were going to take it seriously and were committed doing this together as a couple and as a family. I asked my internist about the medically supervised weight loss he previously asked me to consider and without hesitation he recommended I see Dr. Anderson at Annapolis Medical Weight Loss. Soon thereafter we made an appointment and upon meeting Dr. Anderson both Renee and I immediately felt at ease and knew this physician had all the necessary tools and professional expertise to really help us. But even more importantly we could see that Dr. Anderson was truly committed to helping people just like ourselves lose weight and keep it off while improving the quality of their lives. So much for my skepticism! I remember remarking; out of the 12 major weight related problems listed on a wall in the office, I was living with about 9 of these in one way or another. The staff at Annapolis Medical Weight Loss is equally committed to our success. I personally manage a large medical practice and I am particularly impressed by the professionalism and genuine caring of everyone there. It is evident from the time you walk in, throughout your visit and until the time you leave, everyone there is a committed team member alongside Dr. Anderson.
Renee and I see the Annapolis Medical Weight Loss program as a personal investment in each other and for each other. The cost-benefit ratio is very low compared to facing the potential losses associated with much more serious medical problems. We have been amazed at each other’s weekly success and have found that by entering into this together it has made a tremendous difference.
